Saturday 26th July 2025 | JN Bank, Brixton
The British Caribbean Doctors & Dentists Association (BCDD) partnered with HEAL for Black People to host an impactful health outreach event at JN Bank, Brixton. The afternoon focused on equipping the community with the knowledge and tools to take control of their health and better navigate the healthcare system.
With the dedicated support of the Caribbean and African Health Network (CAHN), attendees received free blood pressure checks, point-of-care testing, one-to-one guidance on heart health, prostate cancer, and nutrition, as well as culturally tailored resources designed to support ongoing wellbeing.
The event saw over 35 people screened, leading to 20 GP referrals and one urgent hospital referral. Dozens of educational materials were distributed, sparking meaningful discussions and questions that reflected the community’s eagerness to engage with proactive, preventative care.
This event showcased the power of accessible, culturally relevant health advocacy—reminding us that early screening, education, and open conversation can truly save lives. We are thankful to HEAL for Black People and the Caribbean and African Health Network (CAHN) for supporting this important work and walking alongside us in our mission. BCDD remains committed to building trust and ensuring our community has the tools to thrive.
