The British Caribbean Doctors & Dentists Association (BCDD) proudly joined HEAL for Black People and the ACMS at King’s College London for Black Health Equity Day BHED 2025 — a thought-provoking and solutions-driven event dedicated to tackling persistent inequalities in Black health outcomes.
The day featured two powerful panel discussions followed by interactive breakout and brainstorming sessions:
Panel 1: “The Current State of Black Health – What’s Changed and What Hasn’t”
Speakers: Dr Aziza Sesay, Dr Oge Ilozue, Dr Sharon Bello, Dr Olubukola Ayodele, Dr Akeem Sule, Dr Amonia Gasper and Dr Toyosi.
Panel 2: “Systems and Accountability in Black Health – How Do We Hold Systems Accountable?”
Speakers: Prof Faye Ruddock, Dr Georgette Oni, Dr Tosin Ajayi-Sotubo, Kevin Howell (Prostate Cancer UK), and representatives from Kidney Care UK, Endometriosis UK, and the Black Health Legacy Study.
These conversations explored what progress has been made, what barriers persist, and how we can collectively design better systems that truly serve Black communities.
