This is a milestone that should not be taken lightly, to be in a room full of pioneers, trailblazers, and dedicated clinicians who have each carved their own path in medicine is inspirational. Thank you particularly to Evelyn Mensah, Professor Frank Chinegwundoh MBE and Nelda Frater for sharing their journeys and paving the way for others. We were proud to see a number of our members featured including Miss (Dr) Stacey Bryan, Ms (Dr) Samantha Tross, Dr Michael Beckles, Dr Ellen Nelson-Rowe, Dr Monique Wheatle, and Dr Stacey Picart. We look forward to seeing future editions with more members featured.
Representation matters. This book will allow the next generation of aspiring Black doctors to see themselves in spaces they didn’t think they could be, in the rooms where decisions are made. To Dr Joan St John, all the editors, contributors, and everyone at Future Medics Forum thank you for creating something that will endure. We are immensely proud!
