The Westside Young Leaders Academy (WYLA) are passionate about producing successful Young Leaders who understand they are born to be great!

WYLA is made up of young African and Caribbean boys and girls, from eight to eighteen years of age.  The goals of WYLA are to instill the tenets of success in their leaders at an early age, creating an awareness and understanding of the opportunities that exist for their lives.

BCDD were honoured to be invited to join with the young leaders in delivering workshops on the topic of aiming for a career in Medicine. Our outreach team were enthusiastically received by both the Young Leaders and their parents. Following on from these sessions the BCDD health Promotion team provided the parents of the Young Leaders a valuable session on Diabetes and Health awareness.

Having created a fruitful relationship with this exceptional organisation BCDD anticipates future projects and creating an impact in the the youth of our community.
