Dr Kamilah Vidale-Ellis MBBS MRCGP is a Part-time GP from South London who is of Barbadian and Trinidadian descent.
She attained her medical degree at Barts and the London Medical School and has gone on to develop a portfolio career in General Practice. Her main interests lie in women’s health and medical education and at present she works as an out of hours forensic examiner with the Havens, and continues to develop her medical education interests through various ad hoc teaching and mentoring with various universities, as well as providing weekly teaching as an honorary lecturer with the Hull and York Medical School.
She also volunteers within the local community, mainly working within the Croydon area, supporting local boxing clubs and providing medical care at local amateur boxing shows.
She is also involved in mentoring with BCDD and with ACMM as it encourages her to keep up to date and gives her the opportunity to motivate and support other aspiring medics!
Outside of medicine Dr Kamilah is extremely proud of her Caribbean heritage and is keen to promote positive representation and opportunities for the British Caribbean community and beyond.
Her current hobbies include playing the piano, travelling and art. She has played mas annually for a number of years, and her Caribbean culture is an integral part of who she is today.
Becoming a mother however has by far been her biggest achievement and is what continues to drive her aspirations and passions to this day.
